This was a Christmas day surprise trip for Suzanne and Jessi. They knew something was up when I said we had to take the dog to the kennel on the 24th. They opened their sealed envelopes Christmas eve and found tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s performance of ‘O’. It didn’t take long for them to figure out that we were going to Las Vegas. It was a short trip and we returned on the 27th. It was raining when we arrived but cleared that evening and was windy and cool for the rest of the trip. Fabulous food, a room to die for, superb people-watching, and magnificent entertainment (‘O’ is a marvel) were the highlights. The only downside was the annoyance of traveling during the winter (weather delays and crowds) and American Airlines' all too frequent maintenance delays with their aircraft. But quite the adventure!
